This lab is meant to facilitate understanding the difference between estimating
the mean of Y for a particular X and a new Y for a particular X. We shall do this
by using formulas for the variance from the book as well as the standard predict()
output from Splus/R. We shall use the sparrow wing data to compute
with associated variances and standard errors.

First plot the data:
Use the following command, as we did last semester, to generate
predictions and standard errors and plot lines showing 95% confidence
intervals about the mean line.
