With starvation, the body produces less estrogen, DHEA, thyroid hormone, and growth hormone, which can leads to infertility, and absent menstruation, and finally, low estrogen, low levels of calcium, high levels of 'stress hormones' like cortical and lack of menstruation lead to bone loss and impaired growth (Sanko, 2007) ....
