1 THESE two types of taste receptors are dimeric GPCRs. If I don’t have T2Rs, I can’t taste THIS . Cats don’t express T1R2 proteins on their taste buds. Therefore, cats can’t taste THIS . If I put a human bitter receptor into T1R1- expressing cells of an animal and then present a human specific bitter tastant to that animal, THIS is the type of response I would expect to see from this animal. WHAT is a “labeled line model” in terms of taste coding? THIS is the signal transduction pathway for bitter, sweet and umami.

Olfactory sensory neurons and pheromone detecting neurons reside in THESE two places, respectively.
