Check out the ’Chapter Test’ at the end of Chapter 1 and 2. Pay attention to ’True or False’ and ’yes or no’ problems. Not because I will choose midterm problems from them (I may), but because these questions really make people think. 4. Recall and list as many as equivalent conditions of ‘ A is (non-)singular’ as you can.

Unformatted text preview: 5. Review the Proofs of Theorems 1.3.2, 2.3.1 (indexing rules) and 2.1.2-2.1.4 (mathe-matical inductions). 6. On ’proof’ problems in the homeworks, a good way to exam how you are doing is to write down the proof and have another classmate read and criticize on it. What’s even better is to volunteer in the recitation sessions on the problems that you are not sure about (usually the ’proof’ problems). Take the chance and let TA correct it for you.
