SAMPLE PROBLEMS Q1. This study is based on an experiment described online a t www.dack.com/web/flashVhtml/ . The goal of the study was to compare the usability of two web layout languages, Flash and HTML . One question this study was designed to answer was whether one language enabled users to find information on the website faster. The study was carried out using the website www.tiffany.com . The site was available in both Flash and HTML versions. The investigator asked his co-workers if they would participate. Forty people agreed to serve as testers. Each person went to one of the two sites, without knowing whether it was HTML or Flash. They were asked to use the website to determine the price of a particular men’s tie. The time (in seconds) that each person took was recorded. The forty testers were all co-workers of the investigator. They volunteered to participate and received no cash payment. Some other information about the testers includes: 34 testers were male and 6 were female. They ranged in age between 24 and 37. All testers worked for the same web development company.
