Dr. Dunn World Politics Screaming Bloody Murder The CNN news piece Screaming Bloody murder takes an in depth look into the development of international laws against genocide, and the response of world powers to prevent and stop genocides from occurring in the world. Christiane Amanpour examines the development of genocides in places such as Cambodia, Bosnia, Iraq, and Darfur, criticizing the response from the United States and the United Nations. A lack of speedy response from these major world powers has allowed genocide in these four mentioned areas of the world to proliferate and wage out of control longer than it should. The CNN report begins with breaking down the origins of the word genocide and how the United Nations came to outlaw it, making it a crime against humanity. Then Christiane Amanpour begins to look at genocides that occur after World War Two and the Holocaust. She interviews survivors from the genocide in Cambodia discussing what occurred there and how long it took for the rest of the world to find out
