Textbooks: AT354 Supplement Copymat, 135 S. Chauncey Avenue, (Chauncey Mall), West Lafayette; 743-5995. Raytheon King Air B200 POH NOTE: You may wish to purchase your own King Air 200 manual. Lafayette Aviation has manuals. Approximate cost is $150.00 Or, purchase one manual for 2 or 3 students or you might try to buy manuals from last years AT354 class. Prerequisites: At least an Associate degree or equivalent Junior level class standing Commercial pilot certificate with instrument and multiengine ratings. Co-requisites: AT321, AT323, and AT329. Educational Goals: AT 354 is a 2 credit hour, 15 week course with 3 goals: Establish operational rules and comportment for student co-pilots. Review flight planning procedures for AT356, Turbine Flight Operations Laboratory. Examine relevant systems for N300PU and N200PU ( B200 King Airs) Attendance: Purdue has no system of cuts Attendance is required for regularly scheduled classes Attendance will be taken at each class Absence A student who was absent - for whatever reason - is responsible for the material missed Missing more than 3 classes may be justification for a failing grade If you know in advance of a conflict with a test, contact the course instructor BEFORE the test. Missed tests/quizzes must be made up before the start of the next class. Examinations There are 4 major exams There will be a comprehensive final exam MOST exam questions will be from class notes. HOMEWORK There are five (5) King Air worksheets of varying point values. Grading Exam points, worksheet points, and bonus points will be totaled and a percentage determined by dividing your total points by the total possible, (currently 520) not including bonus points. There will be no rounding up to the next whole percentage. Letter Grades Percentage GRADE 93% A 86% B 78% C 70% D <70% F Cheating Each student submitting tests for evaluation is assumed to be the sole author Suspected copying from another persons efforts is cheating and will be referred to the Office of the Dean of Students Proof of academic dishonesty will result in a course grade of F. AT 356 Selection In order to fly At 356, students MUST receive a passing grade in AT 354. AT 356 MUST be flown in one of the 3 consecutive semester (including summer session) immediately after completing AT 354. Students in AT 354 will be allowed to choose the semester in which they take AT 356 based on their grade in AT 354. BeechJet A few students per year will be selected to be BeechJet copilots. These students must ask to be considered for this program and must have completed AT 354 and AT 356. Two students are selected for the spring and summer and 2 for the fall. They will fly as copilots for their selected fall....
