Andre Mallqui Period 7 Chapter 8 Vocabulary Learning – a relatively permanent change in an organism’s behavior due to experience Associative Learning – learning that certain events occur together Classical Conditioning (Pavlovian Conditioning) – learning where an organism comes to associate stimuli. A neutral stimulus that signals a UCS begins to produce a response that anticipates and prepares for US Behaviorism – The view that psychology should be an objective science that studies behavior without reference to mental processes Unconditioned Response (UCR) – the unlearned, naturally occurring response to UCS Unconditioned Stimulus (UCS) – a stimulus that naturally/automatically triggers a response Conditioned Response (CR) – the learned response to a previously neutral CS Conditioned Stimulus (CS) – an originally irrelevant stimulus that, after association with a UCS, comes to conditions a CS Acquisition – initial stage in Classical Conditioning. The phase associating a neutral stimulus with an unconditioned stimulus so that the neutral stimulus comes to elicit as conditioned response
