Chapter 2 Highlights What do we mean by “enterprise systems,” The system integrates business processes and information from the entire enterprise-- **helps coordinate the operation of business functions know name of a few ERP modules, CRM-customer relationship management CSS- customer self-service software SCM- supply chain management software (helps plan and execute the steps in an organization’s supply chain how ERP related to e-business, ERP systems are software packages that can be used for the core systems necessary to support enterprise systems ERP can make an electronic order form, route the order for approvals, send the order to the buyer, connect to the vendor and suppliers and use data to receive goods, project funding requirements etc what is event driven architecture, EDA- an approach to designing and building enterprise systems in which business events trigger messages to be sent by middleware between independent software modules that are completely unaware of each other Business events are processed in a timely manner Event notifications are managed in a systematic way to ensure that event data are sent to the correct recent at the right time and there is appropriate follow up. know a few modules of SAP is accounting primary activity? No, it is a secondary, back office activity, marketing and sales would be a primary/front office activity
