1 Work-study jobs Amitai Etzioni, a teacher at The George Washington University, wrote about work-study jobs students do while they are in school or college in a news paper called Miami Herald which circulates in South Florida. . He had 5 sons and in them, 3 teenagers were there. Dari, one of his sons, helped him write that essay in one or other way. He mentioned some topics from which it can be concluded that he is not in favor of work- study jobs. He tries to explain his idea with some examples. He talks about newspaper route, sidewalk lemonade stands and work at McDonald’s. He thinks that it is quite popular for teenage students to work at such places. In McDonald’s, there is nothing creative or initiative a worker can do there. Everything is set up by the company like shape of coffee cups, the weight, size etc and the workers have to just follow them. But such companies have to standardize such things so that they can be symbolized by them. There are several other things in which one can work and be creative like building a good relationship with
