David Joijati Professor Gruber English Compositon II The Dangers of Sesame Street When I was a child I was always jealous of my friends. Every day after school they hopped off the school bus and zipped to the Tv just in time to watch their favorite "educational" skit called Sesame Street. But when they were sitting comfortably in their couch laughing and singing along to Elmo and Ernie, I was helping my Mom slice the Portobello mushrooms for the roast beef we would be having for dinner. Yet as I got older I realized that my purpose in the kitchen wasn't to cut mushrooms, it was to avoid being affected from the toxic radiance of the Sesame Street gang. Many studies have proven that watching Sesame Street is detrimental to a Childs physical and mental well being, making it the prime destroyer of youth. In the days of our great-grandparents growing up was quite simple. A child would come home from play group, eat supper, help tidy up the house, talk with mom and dad, and be on the way to bed. In modern times we dont see such a lifestyle for children.
