• Q: Strawberry plants send out long branches (runners) with a small plant at the end of each runner. If you cut the runners you can have many plants of the same genotype. Suppose you collect 20 plants of genotype #1 and grow 10 in the sun, 10 in the shade. On average, the plants of genotype #1 have bigger leaves when grown in the shade than when grown in the sun. If this were interesting to you, what would you be studying? a) genetic effects b) epistasis c) environmental effects d) pleiotropy e) co-dominance
