Study Guide Exam 1 The following are topics of Exam 1. It covers modules 1-20. This is a GUIDE and is not guaranteed to include all material that will be covered on the exam. However, if you know all of the information presented here you should do well. Remember that you should actively answer the questions and then actively rehearse the information. Module 1 What is the behavioral perspective? Give examples. What kind of work do the different fields of psychology do (i.e. clinical psychology, industrial-organizational psychology)? Give examples. What is behaviorism/humanism/functionalism and who were the major people behind the movement? What is contemporary psychology? Module 2 What is a theory? Give examples. What is the hindsight bias? What is an operational definition? Give examples. What is a hypothesis? Module 3 Be able to identify examples of the different types of research (i.e. descriptive, survey, naturalistic observation). What are independent and dependent variables?
