Shane Wicken 084379 HU260 Assignment 6.1 P a g e | 1 News all over the world by its nature has to be biased in order to be successful. People do not like to hear things that are against their beliefs; therefore the news tends to be biased toward their beliefs in order to appeal to the masses. US media will be biased in a way that will help to promote US beliefs. Iranian news will be biased toward Iranian beliefs. Iranian media will not typically show the US in a good light, unless it is somehow advantageous to them to do so. The same can be said for the US media. I chose to look at the recent UN summit on racism as one example.
