What is your differential diagnosis and treatment plan for this finding? Student Response: The patient may have benign sinus dysrhythmia found in many children. Other symptoms may be due to increased intracranial pressure or myocardial ischemia. The patient's blood pressure should be monitored to rule out myocardial ischemia due to poor perfusion. Assess for oth underlying symptoms, and if no other symptoms, then no treatment is required, as explained above, it is benign. Model Note: Differential diagnosis includes benign sinus dysrhythmia, increased intracranial pressure, increased vagal tone, and myocard ischemia.
