What is Over Fishing? Over fishing is caused by the groups of people fishing out extra fish from our waters so reproduction is essentially hindered. Her is an example: Lets remove 100 fish, both male and female, and leave only 10 of those. We will assume 5 are female. These female fish can not create 100 more fish needed to supply the following years fishing quota. People and fishers use larger nets, unmanned long lines, and drift nets. They are removing too many fish from the water at any given occasion. Using these techniques and others while fishing deplete our natural resources of fish and cause a insufficiency in the plankton, jellyfish, algae, and coral that grow in and on our canals, streams, and all other water sources. This may cause PH balances to be incorrect and plant life being misaligned in said waterways. Since 1950 our big fish supply has had a significant decline of 90%; we must find an enhanced way to fish for food supplies and at the same time, maintain the actual supply.
