The religions of India are many. This paper is about just one. The Hindu religion has been in existence for many thousands of years, since 8000 BC. Traditionally, its followers are Indian, though there are some that ore of other races that have this belief. This paper will go over the belief system held by the Hindu faith as well as the cultural and social influences that help to create the religion. This paper will also discuss the belief of liberation of the soul from the body (a Hindu belief of separation through Yoga). Bearing in mind that Hinduism does not have a uniting belief system, rather the makeup of the Hindu religion is based on tradition and beliefs that have evolved over a long period of time. Hinduism is known as the Sanatana Dharma and has many uniting belief systems. (Pearson Education, 2005) One belief is that certainty is predictable and can be honestly practiced.
