Project Team Issues 2 During the implementation phase of a project, as a project manager you are facing many team issues (such as family issues and interpersonal conflicts) and these issues are creating risks that you did not anticipate during the design phase. Create a plan to adjust the termination time of the project to accommodate the issues presented. After the third week, Greg Lawrence’s wife called stating that he was in an accident. She stated that there was no need to worry and that he would be fine in approximately three months. She apologized for the inconvenience. I assured her that there was no need for apologies and to tell him to get plenty of rest and we will see him when he is better. This posed a serious problem as he was our team’s plumber. Mr. Lawrence owns his own company and we have been working together for 8 years. This time of year is very busy for their company. I phoned his office, explained my situation to see if

I called the next plumbing service that we use and was able to get a plumber to start in 5 days. This pushes our time line back, taking up some of our slack allowance. As Mr. Lawrence was to begin his work on July 20, 2009, we have to adjust our schedule to allow for the date that the new plumber can start, July 25, 2009. Having slack in the timeline is for these reasons. We have no control over ‘acts of nature’, accidents, or the like. As the project manager, I need to allow for concerns that may arise.
