1. What should Mel do at this time? Mel should bring Jack into the office to have a sit-down conversation regarding the behavior that is being observed. Given the lack of discipline and control Jack has exhibited during the last few months, Mel needs to find out if this is a concern that will be reoccurring in the future. 2. How should Mel handle the overall problem? The meeting that the two have needs to produce the following information: 1. Is the concern going to keep him from doing his job correctly? 2. Is Jack’s concern one that is personal and does that require more of his time? 3. Is Jack in need of professional help to assist him through the concern? Some other aspects are that of Jack’s work ethic. Mel needs to inform him of the regulations for employment at the company. Mel also needs to let Jack know that the employee he has become is not the one they hired. He needs to remind Jack of the open
