Chapter 6 case brief Anderson v. Mergenhagen Court of Appeals of Georgia, 2007. 283 Ga.App 546, 642 S.E.2d 105. Facts: Dick Anderson’s former wife, Karyn Anderson, harassed his new wife, appellant Maureen Anderson, until Maureen obtained a warrant for Karyn’s arrest. Maureen claims that Karyn’s new partner, appellee Paul Mergenhagen, began to stalk her around this time. Maureen contends that from 2003-2005, Mergenhagen followed her on a number of occasions, taking pictures of her, making obscene gestures, and committing other acts of intimidation. Mergenhagen admitted to following Maureen at least four times and taking many pictures of her car. A security guard working for Maureen’s subdivision attested to the fact that Mergenhagen frequently waited outside the subdivision gate for Maureen and that on one occasion Maureen was visibly shaken and disturbed by Mergenhagen’s actions. Maureen filed a suit in a Georgia trial court against Mergenhagen alleging, among other things, invasion of privacy. A summary
