Intentional torts against persons include assault (act that creates in another person a reasonable fear of harm); battery (the completion of the act that caused the fear); false imprisonment (the intentional confinement of another person’s activities without justification); infliction of emotional distress (an intentional act that amounts to outrageous conduct resulting in emotional distress to another); defamation (wrongfully hurting a person’s good reputation); invasion of privacy ( stealing someone’s identity, intrusion into someone’s affairs, false light, and public disclosure of private facts); fraudulent misrepresentation (leads another to believe in a condition that is different from the condition that actually exists; and abusive or frivolous litigation (meritless lawsuits intended to harass someone). 2)
