The Data Isurveyed 50 Freshmen and 50 Seniors at St. John’s University and asked them to give us a rough estimate of the number of hours of sleep they received on school nights We will compare the data using a scatter plot on excel Then we will find the mean number of hours from both groups and create a trend line

How to Calculate the Results Using excel we will create two graphs in the same manner, one for Freshmen and one for Seniors Label the first column as the “Number of Hours” and the second column as the “Number of Students” Enter the collected data Highlight the data, then select insert, then scatter plot After the graph is created, right click on one of the points on the graph and select “Format Trendline” Select the “Trend/Regression Type”, in this case we selected linear and then click on the option “Display Equation on Chart”, this is the slope
