Experiment 5 - Sodium Hypochlorite in Bleach Introduction To determine the molarity of sodium hypochlorite(with OCl - ) in chlorox bleach using two reactions: OCl - (aq)+ 2 I - (aq) + 2 H 3 O + (aq) I 2 (aq)+ Cl - (aq) + 3H 2 O(l) I 2 (aq) + 2 S 2 O 3 2- (aq) 2 I - (aq)+ Cl - (aq) + S 4 O 6 2- (aq) Procedure I obtained 10.00 mL of (0.81 M) bleaching solution(Chlorox). Put the solution in a dry volumetric pipette and diluted with water to 100.0 mL. I placed 10-15 mL of diluted bleach solution in a beaker. Rinsed 10 mL volumetric pipette. Placed 50 mL of distilled water in 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask. Added 5.0 mL of 10% KI solution(using graduated cylinder) into Erlenmeyer. Transferred 10 mL the diluted bleaching solution (using pipette) into Erlenmeyer flask. I added 2 mL of 6 M HCl to flask and recorded any observations. Placed 75 mL of 0.1013 M Na 2 S 2 O 3 in dry beaker. Rinsed burette using distilled water then approximately 5 mL of Na
