Bias, Rhetorical Devices and Argumentation Upon watching the speech that Kane gave and then later reading the transcript of the speech I found Kane’s opening statement to be bias, using political bias stating how Boss Jim Getty’s evil domination have taken politics. Kane was blaming everything on Getty in the second paragraph instead of addressing the overall issue at hand he chose to scapegoat and blame Getty. Also ad hominine, instead of addressing the argument of what was wrong with Getty’s political ‘’ issues ‘’ Kane chose to attack him personally, just because he was not good in politics does not mean he was a bad person in life. Kane was totally apple polishing trying to come off as a saint to the working class and poor. Kane was making promises to protect the underprivelideged, underpaid, and the underfed, to me this sounds great as I an sure it does to them but will this really happen or is this an open promise that is just an straw man tactic? Hopefully the citizens would be able to see
