Individual Strengths 2 This paper will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of working in a prior learning team. Discussed in this paper will be some of the techniques used for managing conflict that were effectively used in the learning team. In addition, the skills for effective decision-making within the team and techniques in problem solving, which were used by the team will also be discussed. One will not be able to avoid conflict whether it is at work, home, or school. Whenever there is interaction between people, conflict will have the potential to arise. Conflict is not necessarily bad; conflict can have positive results such as improving relationships, if the conflict is managed properly using attention and thought. One of the problems with conflict is that most people are limited regarding how conflict is managed and resolved, and this can result in making the conflict worse (Conflict911, 2008). In this prior learning team, there were several strengths and limited weaknesses. This learning team was working to finish a common goal. The goal of the team was to complete the team project for a college course. In this learning team, we were required to work together as a team to finish team assignments. This type of learning environment requires dependability, trust, and dedication. Each member of the learning team has a specific part to contribute to the team project, and if someone does not do their part, someone else will have to finish it for them. If this situation arises, it can cause accountability issues, team distrust, and irritation among the team. The personal strengths that I was able to add to the learning team were having dedication to succeed, and being able to work in hands on situation. In this type of learning environment, it is good to monitor the progress of each team member. If there is someone on the team that is not showing signs of completing their assigned portion of the assignment, one should began to find out why. The person could be sick, in need of assistance, or several other problems could be

Each member of the learning team should try to keep in daily contact with one another while working on a team project. Resolving conflict effectively can be simple. However, this can sometimes be hard to do
