Event 4: The Bridge over the River Kwai Objectives of event: 1. To facilitate decision making process and stimulate creative solutions throughout the event. 2. To build up teamwork, self-confidence and trust among team members. Summary of event: In this event, our team was given a mission to transport all the group members and a big barrel across the “River Kwai” by using 3 ropes that are provided. First, two of the team members were waiting at the other side of the river. We tied two ropes at two ends of the river, one for our feet to step on it, and one for our hands to hold when moving across the river. Our group leader Han Cie fell down from the rope when trying to check on the strength of the rope to ensure the team members’ safety. Afterwards, we spent some times to figure out how to transport the big barrel using the one rope left for us. Finally, our strategy planner, Quek, came out with an idea to tie one end of the rope on the barrel and another end at the upper rope between the river banks, so that we can swing the barrel to the other end when one of us is crossing the river.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
