More about Forces External Forces applied externally or due to reaction from supports; have effect on equilibrium of body External Applied Forces: tend to cause a body to move in some direction or rotate about some axis. External Reaction Forces: due to supports or connections to oppose the tendency of applied forces to cause motion and hold body in equilibrium Internal Forces hold the parts that made up a body together or the atoms that form the body together; form equal and opposite pairs; do not affect equilibrium of body but must conform to equilibrium conditions.
