An athlete is defined as a person who possesses the natural or acquired traits to
participate in exercise or a specific sport.
Athletes go through hours upon hours of training and
practice for their sport in order to hone their athletic abilities.
At the high school level, coaches
expect that their athletes will be committed.
In certain situations, there are some coaches who
may demand that their players only be committed to one and only one sport.
However, I feel
that high school coaches should not demand high school athletes be committed to a single sport
due to the fact that playing multiple sports makes one more well rounded, helps improve athletic
ability, and allows for more opportunities to compete.
High schools range from a number of different sizes with many different students
attending.
Out of these students there are a number who are athletes and do choose to participate
in sports.
Many student athletes do indeed play multiple sports and enjoy playing multiple
sports.
This is the end of the preview.
