Zak Murdock 11-14-06 The courtroom consists of many participants during trials. Each of these participants plays a very important role towards the outcome of the trial. These participants are classified into two separate categories, outsiders and professionals. Outsiders are those who are generally unfamiliar with the courtroom and are only there to testify or to be a part of the jury. However, professionals are the ones who earn a living serving the court. Professionals of the courtroom include judges, prosecuting attorneys, defense counsel, the bailiff, the court reporter, the clerk of the court, and any others who earn a living serving the court. All of these professionals are classified as the courtroom work group. The judge is an elected or appointed public official who presides over a court of law and who is authorized to hear and sometimes to decides cases and to conduct trials. The judge has the primary duty when it comes to ensuing justice. The judge holds the ultimate authority, ruling on matters of law, weighing objections from both sides,
