Conference 3 – METHOD SECTIONS Now that we’ve written the introduction of the research paper, we can look at the methods section. The introduction answered the WHY we’re doing the experiment, and now the Methods section will look at HOW we did our experiment, WHAT we used to complete the study, and WHO participated in the research. The Methods section starts immediately after the introduction and is titled Method, which is bolded and centered on the page. The method section is then broken into 3 main subsections: Participants, Materials, and Procedure. These subtitles are flush left and bolded. And then if you need to further break down these sections, you indent and bold the sub-subtitles. See the methods template you should follow for the Methods section. In the Participants subsection you need to talk about the people who completed your study. It is important to note the total number of participants, as well as any demographic information that was collected, such as gender breakdowns, age range and average age. You might also give the ethnicity if it’s important to your study, or maybe if they were all
