DINING OUT WHILE CUTTING DOWN ON FATS- 2/17 JANUARY 20, 2010 Course requirements: - 3 written assignments 15% o Unit 7 review questions and worksheet- around march 3rd o Weight reduction program evaluations- opportunity to analyze diets o Case study nutrition assessment- - Special topic group project and presentation- 10% - learning by doing o Groups of 2 - Diet intake project- 20% o Assessing diet - 3 quizzes- 10% o All three are 50 q in all o First one is inclass, 10-15q o 2 nd might be take home - Examinations 75q multiple choice, some resemble those from quizzes, possibly some matching (one section does this), an essay or choice of essays o Midterm-20% o Final- 20% - Attendance/participation- 5% Class format: - Questions from previous week - Pretest or probing question to start discussion of unit - Review of essential material - Oral presentations - Group work on case study - Current headlines (as time allows)
