Introduction The Age of Jefferson Jefferson’s “Revolution” Albert Gallatin Jefferson’s Proposals Tripolitan Pirates - Jefferson wanted to restore simplicity to the republic, and tried so  with actions such as wearing slippers to public events - A new capital of Washington was being built in 1800 - People were very spread out, even in the most popular states of  and bad quality of travel, along with the lack of bridges on rivers - Politics was limited with the lack of movement too because they  couldn’t get more voters in other areas - Between 1800 and 1820, US would go through a lot - Jefferson arose emotions in others, while dispassionate himself - He was convinced that republics collapse from within due to  things like taxes and corrupt officials
