Companies announce similar $99.99 a month unlimited calling plans MSN Tech and Gadgets By Peter Svensson updated 10:00 a.m. PT, Tues., Feb. 19, 2008 NEW YORK - Verizon Wireless introduced an unlimited calling plan for $99.99 a month on Tuesday, a move that was quickly matched by AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile USA and weighed down stock prices for all U.S. mobile carriers. Teacher’s note: A timely article that confirms what marketing and product “morons” the wireless companies are in the US. Obvious because they are unable to really distinguish their service, which is not very good if you have had service in another country, they are competing on price, and are in a price war. This is a match the competition strategy. Also, note most significant digit pricing. Verizon Wireless was apparently the first major carrier to make an "unlimited" plan available nationwide with no domestic roaming or long-distance fees.
