Solution of ECE 300 Test 11 F09 1. With reference to the circuit below, the phasor voltages of the voltage source, resistor and inductor are represented in the phasor diagram. The circuit is operating in the sinusoidal steady state with ω = 120 π . If the impedances of the resistor and the inductor are Z R = 75 0 ° Ω and Z L = 75.398 90 ° Ω respectively, answer the following questions. (a) Find the numerical magnitude and angle of the phasor current flowing clockwise through the circuit. I = V R Z R = 168.48 9.85 ° 75 = 2.246 9.85 ° A or I = V L Z L = 169.37 99.85 ° 75.398 90 ° = 2.246 9.85 ° A (b) Find the numerical inductance of the inductor. Z L = j L L = Z L j = 75.398 90 ° j 120 = j 75.398 j 120 = 0.2H (c) Find the numerical magnitude and angle of the voltage across the capacitor. V s + V R + V L + V C = 0 V C = V s V R V L = 171 0 ° 168.48 9.85 ° 169.37 99.85 ° V C = 198.63 ∠− 80.15 ° (d)
