She has been involved with the youth program at our church (Van Dyke United Methodist) for the past several years. In addition, she is a former volunteer YoungLife leader at the New Tampa YMCA. Kacy accompanied our youth group on a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico this May, in which we were given the opportunity to completely build a home for a family from floor to roof, in just a week. I understand that Kacy was to complete 30 hours of community service as advised by the University. All together we spent a total of 5 days, 10 hours a day, building this home. Kacy more than completed her 30 hours while in Mexico. I believe that Kacy not only left this trip with a completed assignment, but she left with a changed heart, something that is not always easy to come by.
