Kusy Ryan Kusy Mrs. Kelleher AP English IV Hamlet Character, it defines who people are, how they act, and the way they live their life. It makes each person unique and different from the next. It gives each person a sense of individuality. In Hamlet by William Shakespeare the protagonist of the play is Prince Hamlet. He is one of the most famous characters in all of literature, and his character is often analyzed and examined by readers. In one of his many soliloquies, Hamlet exhibits many character traits that allow the audience to further understand him as an individual and what these traits may lead to as the play continues. From his speech in Act I, scene ii, the reader is able to see that Hamlet expresses suffering from the loss of his father, hatred for his Uncle Claudius, and shows a sense of maturity and adulthood. These traits define Hamlet as the plot progresses, and are just a few of the many traits he exhibits during the course of the play. As the play opens, the audience learns very early on that the King of Denmark,
