TE Homework 9/28/09 Chelsea Meyers 1. I think Sami went from getting one star to getting 30 stars because she stopped reading the longer books, which she enjoyed and switched to shorter, less challenging books which she could finish quickly, and without trouble. She wanted to get a prize, and that became the only reason she was reading, not because she enjoyed it. a. The incentive program encourages students to do something that might be undesirable because they want a prize, they also don’t want to be “the loser” or in this case the person with the fewest stars. So children will do something they normal wouldn’t want to because they know there is a reward (or prize) they want to receive. b. As a teacher you want your students to enjoy learning, so prizes are a good way to get them into it. If this was my class I would make a day at the end of the month (maybe on the day of the movie and popcorn party) where each student would give a small report on their top three favorite books that they had read over the month. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
