CEG/EE 260 Lab 2 Dr. Sridhar Ramachandran Lab 3: Combinational Design with MSI components (a.k.a The Car Dashboard display lab) CEG/EE 260 PURPOSE The purpose of this lab project is to introduce students to the synthesis of a digital devise of mod- erate complexity consisting exclusively of combinational circuitry. In this lab, we will use sev- eral MSI design components and build a modular design. In week one of this lab, students will design a modified car door status detector and a car tire pressure indicator. In week two of this lab, students will design an intelligent refuel indicator and then implement a unified car display system using the modules designed in previous labs. This lab will introduce students to hierarchi- cal design with multiplexers. WEEK ONE : Modular design implementation (15 pts.) The goal of the first week is to design several independent modules to be used later in week two. Simulate and test each module thoroughly. Please document all of your work in your lab notebook.
