Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or  ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you. Let’s talk about eighth grade playground rules. Although cutting the lunch  line undoubtedly is the worst sin, seat-stealing certainly is high up there among  any list of cardinal sins. Therefore, the day Molly began stealing my assigned  perfect-splinter-free seat; I knew she had declared all-out war. Ordinarily, this  called for a brutal best-of-nine match of Rock-Paper-Scissors. But this time, I  took it a step further. I had to cream her in Mrs. Massaro’s weekly problem- solving contests. The Friday before Winter Break, I had flattened her in the first nine  problems. I was on a roll. Moving on to the last problem of the set, I read, “How  many paths in this maze can the cat take to catch the mouse?” I started delving  into a maze of permutations, grids, and Vandermonde’s identity. It was an all-star
