On your worksheet, explain why the distances and azimuths of the two coordinate systems are not the same. 2. The lengths of the semi-major and semi-minor axes of the reference ellipsoid for the GRS 1980 ellipsoid are 6,378,147 m and 6,356,752.141 m, respectively. a) Using your MATLAB worksheet in problem 1, determine the distance on the reference ellipsoid transcribed by 1’ of latitude on the equator.
