A lazy graduate student forgets to put the cap on a nearly full 2-L bottle of benzene (a known carcinogen with liquid density of 0.9 g/mL) in a small laboratory room (50 m 3 ) before going home for the night. The next morning, she comes back to the lab and smells a powerful odor and notices to her dismay that the bottle is completely empty. (a) Assume that the room is not ventilated at all and that the room is at a constant temperature of 20 o C. Calculate the mole fraction of benzene in the air of the room to which she was exposed. (b)
