EXB 113 –  Growth and Development in Human Performance COURSE SYLLABUS, Spring Quarter, 2010 Lecture: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:00 am to 10:50 in 55 Roessler Hall Instructors: J.D. Shaffath, MD, 269 Hickey Gym, 752-0704, jdshaffrath@ucdavis.edu P.B. Salitsky, PhD, 285 Hickey Gym, 752-3381, pbsalitsky@ucdavis.edu (Guest Lecturers include Drs. Victoria Cross, Tara Hembrooke, and Sue Bodine) Course Description : An upper division introduction to the biology of human growth and development. Special attention will be paid to: 1) the acquisition of motor control and ability to learn complex movements, and 2) the role of physical activity and exercise in influencing patterns of growth and development. The course will also address the role of psychological and socio-cultural interactions with human biologic potential, and the role of exercise/physical activity in modulating the human aging process.
