TRAD104 Paper Topic Write a four to five page, double-spaced (12-point font) paper on the following topic. Socrates offers several arguments against Callicles’ position that pleasure and good are the same. One turns on the claim that pleasure and pain can coincide (i.e., inhere in the same subject at the same time) (495e497a). Lay out the argument, distinguishing premises and conclusions. Then critically evaluate the argument. Is it valid (i.e., does the conclusion follow from the premises)? Are the premises plausible (i.e., what can be said for or against the premises)? Be sure that your paper answers these questions thoroughly. The paper is due in a little over two weeks, on Wednesday, February 17 th . Upload your paper to the course D2L website.
