She signed in, presented her information and order, and then took a seat in the waiting room. 10 minutes later, the technician call for Susan and she went back to the room. She was told to remove her blouse and bra, put on the gown with the opening in the front, and then lie on the table face down. Slightly confused, but thinking this must be a new method for mammograms, she did as she was told. Five minutes later, a physician came into the room and performed a breast biopsy on her. The patient was shocked when the procedure began and attempted to explain to the physician that there was a mistake but the physician proceeded with the biopsy. Afterwards, it was determined that Susan B. was the patient who was scheduled for a biopsy, not Susan R. Only Susan B. signed a consent for the biopsy.
