TERMS FOR IAH 221C COMICS Comics- amusing: arousing or provoking laughter Panel- sequence of cartoons that tells a story Gutter- the space between the panels of a comic strip Closure- the space between two images that requires the reader to fill in the  blanks and the transition between what happens in two frames patched one next  to the other. Sequential art- c omics Word-image relations(see McCloud)- Panel- to Panel movement( see McCloud)- PHOTOGRAPHY Photography- is the process, activity and art of creating still or moving pictures by recording radiation on a sensitive medium, Focus- Light- electromagnetic radiation that can produce a visual sensation Line- a regular pattern that joins together a number of elements of the image. That line doesn't have to be straight - and the strongest images often include lines that are curved. Repetition- Shape- the spatial arrangement of something as distinct from its substance Space- the unlimited expanse in which everything is located
