Kameron Storrs Christian Worldview 101 November 15, 2018 Dr. Sherman Benchmark - Gospel Essentials A worldview is a set of assumptions or beliefs about reality that affects how we think and we live (Topic 1 Notes). There are three basic worldviews: Atheism, Pantheism, and Theism. For those with a Christian worldview, they will fall under a Theism worldview. We Christians believe that there is only one God and he is the creator of all things. Not only do Christians follow Christ, most Christians also try to live their lives in a Godly manner. There are various ways to determine your type of worldview. For instance, your thoughts about ultimate reality, human nature, nature of the universe, knowledge, ethics, and your purpose all play a huge role in determining your worldview. Throughout this essay I will access my understanding of a Christian’s worldview and summarize and analyze the essential elements of the Christian worldview and reflect on my personal worldview. God From a Christian’s perspective, God is at the center of everything. He has various characteristics including that he is “unchanging, eternal, all- powerful, all- knowing, and all- present.” God also proves that he is “good, loving, just, jealous, faithful, and holy” (Hiles & Smith Ch. 3 2015). He is a forgiving God, as long as you ask for forgiveness he’ll grant that to you no matter how great the sin is. God is also the sovereign creator. He created everything, from the heavens to the earth. “God’s creation of the entire universe communicates his sovereignty 1

and Lordship, for the creator of all is also the Lord of all… Because God is the only true God, and the one who created all things, he alone is worthy of worship and praise” (Hiles & Smith Ch. 3 2015). We Christians should always fear God because of his power and saves us from entering into our own sinful nature.
