What issue does the editorial present? Trial lawyers are getting rich at the expense of the ethical norm of justice, companies that previously made asbestos, and victims of asbestos. Congress has failed to make any legislation for asbestos lawsuits and so the Supreme Court has been unable to create a lasting fix that will stop the flow of potentially frivolous asbestos claims and justly compensate those injured by asbestos. 2. What is the editorial’s conclusion? The editor concludes that the system is completely broken when it comes to asbestos claimants. Lawyers take in the majority of the money while plaintiffs are limited to what is left over. The Supreme Court is impotent to resolve the situation.
