February 1, 2010 – May 21, 2010 BA621 Business Law Lesson #7 Assignment #6 Lesson #7, Assignment #6: Critical Thinking About the Law Answer the following questions (from page 471 of your text). 1) Your friend states that people do not have to follow the regulations passed by administrative because these regulations are not laws. She argues that only Congress can make laws. Which critical thinking question needs to be applied to settle this disagreement? Clue: Do you and your friend agree on the meaning of the words she is using? She believes that regulations set forth by administrative agencies are not laws, which leads me to believe that she does not understand the power delegated to administrative agencies by Congress. I would have to ask her to define what a regulation is, then, if it is not a law. And, if these agencies, which were created by law by Congress, did not have the power to create laws themselves, then what purpose would they have?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
