The Court’s recent decisions have struck a blow to the ever-expanding power of the federal government over state governments, and thus a new de-federalization revolution has started in order to bring power back into the hands of the states and communities. 2 What is the author’s conclusion? This rebalancing act is for the good of the country as it deems unconstitutional the powers that the federal government has used over the years to punish companies and states. The federal government’s interests in (1) uniformity among all the states and (2) regulations that directly impact local communities in favor of equality or “rights” has gone far enough; now it is time for states to start deciding what is best for them. 3 List a few of the author’s most important reasons.
