Syntax Documentation for Length, Area and Volume Functions Input/Output All three of the functions have the same input and output. The value of the initial unit, the initial unit, and the unit to be converted to are the input values. The value of initial unit is represented by the variable, v , the initial unit is represented by the variable, u , and the unit to be converted to is represented by the variable, cu . The output of the functions is the value of the converted unit, also represented by the variable, v . The input and output values have the same variable because Matlab can run through loops and change the value of the variable without having to create a new variable. List of units able to be converted as well as the strings used to represent them in the function Length: (Metric) Meter – ‘m’ Kilometer – ‘km’ Megameter – ‘Mm’ Gigameter – ‘Gm’ Terameter – ‘Tm’ Centimeter – ‘cm’ Millimeter – ‘mm’ Micrometer – ‘um’ Nanometer – ‘nm’
